My stay at the Best Western was a mixed experience. The rooms were comfortable and what you would expect at a Best Western, but the cleanliness was a major issue. On the bright side, the location was great, but there were some sketchy elements that made me feel uneasy at times.

The room I was given was absolutely unclean. Trash not emptied, bed not made, and even pillows and blankets were strewn across the room. The heavy smoke smell in a non-smoking room was really disappointing. I had to request a different room due to finding a 'gift' in the toilet.

Service

The service was a bit of a mix. While the location was very central to the Kansas City area, the hotel room price was excellent for the value. However, the staff was not their usual pleasant self on this occasion, although they usually have amazing customer service. Unfortunately, the housekeeping service left much to be desired, which is not entirely their fault.

The location of the hotel is great for downtown KC, the airport, and even the Kansas Speedway, the ballpark, and the football stadium. It's right off the Interstate and easy to find. However, it seemed a bit sketchy at times, and I felt like I had to keep an eye on my car all night.

The dining experience was decent and presented well. It was good for the price of the room, but it fell short due to the fact that they really do not have breakfast options beyond a basic continental breakfast. Organic products were a nice touch, though.

The facilities were sufficient but nothing extraordinary. The hotel had the basics but did not offer any standout amenities.

The hotel had its ups and downs - the room was clean and comfortable with a King-sized bed, but not worth the price. The service was hit or miss with friendly and inflexible staff. The location was safe and served our needs but with some cleanliness issues. The dining experience offered a good variety but not outstanding. Overall, it was an okay stay with room for improvement.
